Every recommendation on this site is based on verified specifications and independent editorial judgment. We do not accept payment for reviews, rankings, or product inclusion.
How We Select Products
We start by identifying the criteria that matter most for each product category. For lift chairs, that means weight capacity, motor configuration, seat dimensions, recline positions, wall clearance, and build quality. We then research the full range of options available across multiple price tiers and select a small number of picks that represent the best combination of value, reliability, and suitability for different needs.
We intentionally limit the number of products we recommend. A guide with 20 options is not more helpful than one with seven. Our goal is to give you enough choices to find the right fit without overwhelming you with products that are not meaningfully different from one another.
How We Verify Specifications
We do not rely on Amazon listing copy or manufacturer marketing materials as our sole source for product specifications. Every safety-critical spec we publish, including weight capacity, motor count, and seat dimensions, is verified against the manufacturer’s official product page, spec sheet, or technical documentation where available.
When we find discrepancies between different sources (for example, an Amazon listing that states a different seat width than the manufacturer’s spec sheet), we note the discrepancy and use the manufacturer’s figure. If the manufacturer’s documentation is unavailable or unclear, we say so.
How We Write Reviews
Our product reviews describe what each product does well, where it falls short, and who it is best suited for. We do not write uniformly positive reviews. If a product has a meaningful weakness, whether that is a low weight capacity, a short warranty, limited availability, or a thin review history on Amazon, we call it out.
We organize our recommendations by price tier (premium, mid-range, and budget) so you can compare products within your budget rather than being steered toward the most expensive option.
How Affiliate Revenue Affects Our Content
It does not. We earn affiliate commissions when you purchase a product through our links, but this has no influence on which products we include, how we rank them, or what we write about them. We explain our affiliate relationships in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Some products we recommend are not available through affiliate programs at all. We include them because they deserve to be in the guide, not because we profit from recommending them.
How We Handle Errors
Product availability, pricing, and specifications change. When we become aware that a product has gone out of stock, been discontinued, or had a specification change, we update our guides as quickly as possible. We note the date of each update so you know how current the information is.
If you spot an error or find information that contradicts something we have published, we want to hear about it.
What We Do Not Do
We do not accept sponsored content, paid product placements, or manufacturer-provided review units in exchange for coverage. We do not participate in review programs where the manufacturer has editorial approval over what we write. We do not use AI-generated content that has not been reviewed and verified by a human editor. We do not publish health or medical advice; our content covers equipment selection, not diagnosis or treatment.
